Words
While the first strips might indicate A Modest Destiny is rather a parody of fantasy, if you're patient, you'll be rewarded, as the storyline evolves and gets less humorous and much, much darker.
There isn't a problem alive that can't be solved by throwing lots of ninjas at it.
Pixel art! Later, the background scenery artwork abandones the pixel way to have a more realistic feel; fortunately, the characters remain pixelated.

Miscellaneous
A Modest Destiny has a little sister - The Starship Destiny, a Futurama-like sci-fi parody. For reasons unknown to me, the author filed it under "Junkyard" on his website, finding it nor worthwhile. It may not be stellar (pun intended), but compared to crap like Zombies of the Living Dead or The Atheist, the Agnostic, and the Asshole... Go figure.
No matter what Mr. Howard thinks, at least this trip through a time portal is epic enough to deserve your attention: Part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5. Ich bin ein Berliner, beyotch!
